Toronto - March 12 2015, 7:30PM to 9:30PM in the Hurwich Boardroom, Beth Tzedec Congregation
On Thursday evening, March 12th, Dr. Rania Okby, the first female Bedouin physician in Israel, spoke to a packed (full) house (of about 200 participants) at Beth Tzedek Synagogue as part of their adult education speaker series.
Dr. Okby who received her education at Ben-Gurion University and is on staff at Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva, is in Toronto for the year doing a Fellowship in obstetrics at Sunnybrook Hospital. During her presentation she outlined in great detail the health and treatment issues affecting the Bedouin population in Israel. The statistics and issues she described were both interesting and informative to the appreciative crowd who came away very impressed with Dr. Rania Okby, the physician and the person.
