Ben-Gurion University Canada (BGU Canada) is the Canadian fundraising arm of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). At BGU Canada, we support the vision of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, who said “It is in the Negev that the creativity and pioneer vigour of Israel shall be tested.” Afte the tragic events of October 7th, never before has the university’s centrality in rebuilding the Negev been clearer and more critical.
If you are a talented administrator, passionate about Israel and with a strong desire to join a dynamic national team, this part-time position (approx. 8-12 hours week) may be for you. This is an ideal position for a candidate looking for part-time and flexible hours at any career stage. This position can work from home, office or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively support the Winnipeg board – coordinate meetings and ensure that the work of the board proceeds efficiently and effectively.
- Working with the board, organize and promote periodic events (e.g. movie premier, parlour meeting, board BBQ).
- Organize operations including invoicing, tribute cards, invitations, etc.
- Help coordinate the logistics of visiting professionals or professors.
- Work with the team in Toronto to ensure the accuracy of all donor records.
- Promote awareness of the organization’s mission and work.
- Assist in ensuring that BGU Canada continues to have high visibility in Winnipeg.
Key Competencies
- 2+ years fundraising or administrative experience
- Self starter and highly motivated
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Active user of technology
- Passionate about Israel
