MESSAGE FROM ANDREA FREEDMAN
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - BGU CANADA
Dear friends,
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) is a pioneering example of a Fifth Wave University, redefining higher education. This model goes beyond traditional teaching and research by integrating academia with industry, government, and communities to drive meaningful change and economic growth.
A defining characteristic of a Fifth Wave University is its commitment to expanding educational opportunities and BGU is dedicated to ensuring that higher education is accessible to a diverse student body, particularly in the Negev.

For example, The Jusidman Science Center for Youth plays a key role in this mission, offering students from underserved communities exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). By nurturing curiosity and academic excellence at a young age, this program creates pathways to higher education.
BGU is committed to innovation and regional development. Check out some of the latest articles and news in this month’s eConnect.
