56th Board of Governors Meeting – 2026
Thirty Canadians joined the global BGU community in Israel from October 18-22 for the 56th Board of Governors Gathering, Our Roots Define the Path Forward. Originally scheduled for May, the gathering was postponed due to Iranian missile attacks, which made being together in Israel all the more meaningful. Over the week, delegates heard how artificial intelligence is shaping research across the university, listened to BGU alumnus Eli Sharabi share his story of resilience, and met students and faculty whose commitment to the Negev defines the university. They also celebrated seven honorary doctorate recipients and joined in honouring philanthropists whose names were inscribed on BGU’s donor walls. We hope you enjoy the journey through photography below!
