Ben-Gurion University Canada presents a film screening of the documentary After Munich with a LIVE interview with Canadian producer Francine Zuckerman, an event of solidarity commemorating 1972’s Munich terrorist attack on 11 Israeli Olympic athletes.

THE DIRECTOR

FRANCINE ZUCKERMAN

Francine Zuckerman grew up in Montreal and graduated from McGill University’s Film & Communications department and then studied directing at Columbia University in New York and writing at The Script Factory in London. She has won numerous awards and been recognized at film festivals around the world.

Films include two documentaries: award winning, National Film Board co-production, HALF THE KINGDOM and CBC television doc EXPOSURE: environmental links to breast cancer with Olivia Newton-John. Other work includes: a Canada/New Zealand feature co-production PUNCH ME IN THE STOMACH for CBC based on the Off Broadway play by Deb Filler; the dramatic series THE ATWOOD STORIES; a feature documentary, WE ARE HERE about Jews in Poland and a short drama, MR. BERNSTEIN which won ‘Best Drama’ at the Toronto International Short Film Festival.

She has recently completed her feature documentary AFTER MUNICH about the aftermath of the Munich Olympic massacre of eleven Israeli athletes in 1972 and how four women’s lives are changed forever which has toured internationally. She is in development on a new feature documentary ALMA ROSE; a Canada- Poland co-production ANNA and a dramatic tv series with Eone and Lucky Chap based on the celebrated writer Margaret Atwood’s first novel THE EDIBLE WOMAN.
