Winnipeg Emergency Medicine Post October 7 - May 26, 2025
On Monday, May 26, 2025, Ben-Gurion University Canada (BGU Canada) Winnipeg hosted a donor appreciation event for those who gave to the Heartbeat of Education campaign. The event was followed by a talk and Q&A session open to a wider audience and featuring Dr. Oren Wacht, Head of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev’s (BGU) Department of Emergency Medicine and Director of the Field Family Medical Simulation Building.
The Heartbeat of Education campaign has raised enough funds so far to provide 40 paramedics and students at BGU with scholarships ranging from $2,000-$4,000 each. This allows students to receive the support they need to continue their studies—balancing academics, work, and service during unimaginable times.
