GREETINGS FROM BGU CANADA NATIONAL PRESIDENT,
JACK ALTMAN

Welcome to a brand new month!
We have plenty of exciting events and activities in the works for 2023 beginning with some breaking news from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). Earlier today it was announced that Dr. Chelsea Clinton will be awarded an honorary doctorate during the upcoming Board of Governors to be held at the university in May. To learn more, scroll down.
Meanwhile, the ever popular "Literary Series: In Conversation with Israeli Authors 3.0" kicked off last month with award-winning author David Grossman and his novel, "A Horse Walks into a Bar." The event went smoothly with plenty of questions asked by our engaged audience. You can still purchase access to the two remaining webinars. Read further and learn more.
In this month's eConnect, we spotlight the African Studies program at BGU and published articles about the university.
With Valentine's Day almost here, we are showing our volunteer leaders some love by highlighting their profiles; our organization is led by these passionate individuals who give their time and are ambassadors of BGU Canada, together with our dedicated professional staff.
Next month, we will introduce our regional executive directors.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jack Altman

THANK YOU, MIRIAM ROLAND!

A generous gift from one of BGU Canada's most committed donors will help support a new initiative between Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) and Montreal's Concordia University.
The $1-million gift from major donor Miriam Roland, LLD 18, is equally shared by both institutions, and will fund sustainability pilot projects led jointly by BGU's Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change and Concordia's Next-Generation Cities Institute.

John Molson MBA International Case Competition 2023 in Montreal is back!

Following a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev sent a team to compete in the John Molson School of Business International MBA Case Competition from January 1-6, in Montreal. While teams competed virtually during the pandemic, this is the first time since 2020, that they appeared in person. The BGU Team was made up of 3 women and 1 man. They recently completed the 14 month intensive International MBA program and capped off their studies in Montreal at the competition.
BGU Canada extends its gratitude to Miriam Roland, the Felicia and Arnold Aaron Foundation and all our donors for your continued support of our students and for making it possible for them to participate and compete.
