CEO CORNER:
Greetings from Mark Mendelson
Dear Friends,
I hope that your 2022 is off to a good start despite new restrictions due to COVID-19. 2021 was another record-breaking fundraising year, the fourth in succession, for Canadian Associates of Ben-Gurion University (CABGU) thanks to your generous support and participation. We are looking forward to continuing this winning streak in the coming year.
My team at CABGU, our board members and I have been working collaboratively to put together another excellent lineup of events. They include the second iteration of CABGU's popular Literary Series which is officially sold out with more than 200 households participating. Our Webinar Wednesdays continue with a visit to David Ben-Gurion's Sde Boker home, (the Hut) later this month. Plus, each region is working on developing in-person events for the coming year depending, of course, on the COVID situation.
I share more in the video above and you can learn about what's coming your way in January below.
Wishing you all the best in 2022,

Mark Mendelson
CEO, CABGU

UPCOMING EVENTS

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Congratulations to the BGU student delegation participating in the JMSB Case Competitions

Every year, Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business (JMSB) hosts its MBA International Case Competition. For the 10th year, a team from Ben-Gurion University is participating. Due to COVID-19, the competition is being held virtually. To date, the team has won all three of their cases and has placed first in its division.
The team must win two more cases in order to enter the semi-finals which will be held this weekend. In total, there are 32 MBA Programs participating from North America, Europe, Brazil, South Africa and the Dominican Republic. The competition focuses on complex business cases testing classroom learning with practical experience.

welcomes new president Peggi Cohen Rabinovitch

In December, CABGU celebrated the culmination of Jack Altman’s tenure as President of the Montreal Chapter. Jack, we thank you for your years of commitment, support and friendship!
The evening culminated with the installation of Peggi Cohen Rabinovitch as the incoming President of the Montreal Chapter. We extend a warm welcome to Peggi and a big congratulations!
Montreal-based publication, The Suburban, published an article about Jack and Peggi. Read the article and enjoy the photo gallery from the evening's celebrations by clicking the link below.
Thank you Winnipeg for your contribution!

Winnipeg, we did it! Thanks to your generous donations, a total of $30,000 was raised for the Sheldon and Florence Zamick Family Fund between October and December.
