November 2021 News from CABGU

CEO CORNER:
Special Greetings - Mark Mendelson from Israel

Dear friend,

This month I bring special greetings from Israel where I am currently attending a series of meetings with donors, staff and leaders at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). It has been over two years since my last visit and so much has happened since.

In addition to a very busy work schedule in Israel, our team in Canada has been hard at work as we begin to roll out some exciting news and campaigns.

Firstly, we were thrilled to officially announce a significant and transformative donation by the Azrieli Foundation directed to the newly named Azrieli National Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopment Research.

In addition, we have launched a second season of the Canadian Associates of Ben-Gurion University's Literary Series: In Conversation with Israeli Authors. Take advantage of the early bird rate of $118 until Friday at noon when the price for this popular series goes up to $136. Both rates include three novels featuring Israeli authors and amazing full-sized gifts from our sponsor, Indigo Books and Music.

Plus, a new Winnipeg scholarship campaign was launched late in October, honouring former Board President Sheldon Zamick and his family for their continued commitment and support of CABGU.

I hope you enjoy reading about everything that we've been up to and all the wonderful things coming down the pipe for CABGU and Israel's Nation Building University in this month's eConnect.

Wishing you a healthy and happy November!
