Canada-Israel Collaboration to advance brain research
Canadian and Israeli brain researchers are creating a partnership to bolster research for the care and treatment of patients living with brain injury and disease.
The collaboration will be led by two internationally acclaimed institutes: Dalhousie's Brain Repair Centre and BGU's Zlotowski Centre for Neuroscience's Brain Trust. This united research venture is expected to spark new insights, approaches, diagnostics and therapeutics of common brain diseases. Read more.

In 1989, Prof. David Eichler published a paper in Na ture proposing that if two neutron stars collided, there would be a burst of gamma rays. Such bursts had been already discovered, but no one knew what they were, and Eichler and his colleagues proposed that at least some of them came from merging neutron stars. Read more.
